Project Specialist - CNIC´s Project Office

The CNIC has been conceived to develop research of excellence, competitive and of international relevance in relation to cardiovascular diseases, and has been recognized as a Severo Ochoa center of Excellence since 2015. The CNIC is located in Madrid and counts with a space of more than 6,000 m2 to host laboratories equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment.

The CNIC is looking for a Project Specialist to work in the Project Office, which supports the implementation of objectives of Severo Ochoa 2020 programme. The new Project Specialist will support national and international project’s management, and all the other actions supporting the researchers in applying for national and international competitive calls.

Functions:

  • Provide support to the managers, research groups and collaborate with other administrative departments
  • Identify and disseminate competitive national and international funding schemes
  • Support in preparation and submission of grant applications for national and international calls
  • Support in the project management and reporting
  • Records management maintenance according to internal procedures

Essential requirements:

  • University Degree
  • At least 5 year of experience of working in R&D assessment in public sector research institution in Spain

Valuable requirements:

  • C1. Experience in management of national grant schemes in biomedical research, such as AEI (JC, RyC, Redes de Excelencia, SAF/BFU, PEJ MINECO), ISCIII (FIS, REDES, Plataformas, Impact, etc), CAM (Ayudas Talento, PEJ CAM, GRUPOS CAM), FECYT, CIBER, BBVA, etc. (valued in terms of years or fraction of years)
  • C2. Experience in management of international R&D projects in biomedical research including at least the following sources of competitive international funding: H2020, EHA, EMBO, AACR, CRI, BrightFocus, Leducq, EFSD, FEBS, HFSP, ESC), etc. (valued in terms of years or fraction of years)
  • C3. Experience of support in application process of grant schemes of EHA, EMBO, AACR, BrightFocus, AEI (JC, RyC, Redes, etc), AES (, FIS, REDES, Impact, etc) (valued in terms of years or fraction of years)
  • C4: Experience in promotion of calls, management of applications and grants for Leducq, and EFSD calls (valued in terms of years or fraction of years)
  • C5: Experience in management of applications, grants, and negotiation of agreements for Fundación “la Caixa”, Fundació la MARATÓ, and AECC (valued in terms of years or fraction of years)
  • C6. Interview. As fluency in English is obligatory (spoken and written), the interview will be partially conducted in English

Selection plan:

At least 3 candidates with the highest score (as long as they reach the minimum of 65 points as a sum of evaluation criteria (C1-C5) will be interviewed. The candidate with the highest score will be hired given the total score (C1-C5) is higher than 70 points.

C1.
