Elena Martín García


After graduating in 2011 in Biochemistry at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, she completed her Master in Molecular Biomedicine at the same University in 2012. In 2013 she joined the Functional Genetics of the Oxidative Phosphorylation System Laboratory at CNIC, where she completed her doctoral thesis, under the supervision of Dr. José Antonio Enríquez. Her thesis work was the in situ validation of the mitochondrial electron transport chain assembly through the study of mitochondrial deficiency models by STED.

She is currently doing her research in the Molecular Cardiology Laboratory at CNIC, under the supervision of Dr. Silvia Priori, where she studies mitochondrial function in hereditary channelopathies.
