Jesús Victorino Santos

Originally from Seville, Jesus started his research training at the Andalusian Center for Developmental Biology (CABD) and obtained his BSc in Biotechnology at Pablo de Olavide University in 2014. He moved to Madrid where he joined the Functional Genomics Lab of Miguel Manzanares and got his MSc in Molecular Biomedicine from Autonomous University of Madrid. Jesus is currently doing his PhD thesis thanks to a “laCaixa” fellowship understanding the genetics behind human genome variation. Using hits from Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) and massive screening techniques, he is identifying novel regulatory elements and their role in common human diseases.
