The CNIC (Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares) is a research institute in Madrid with a modern infrastructure and ample funding to carry out world-leading biomedical research. http://www.cnic.es. The Center is equipped with state of the art equipment and infrastructures needed for cardiovascular research and offers various services including cellomics, proteomics, genomics, bioinformatics, microscopy, histopathology, and SPF animal facility.

The Genomics Unit (https://www.cnic.es/en/investigacion/genomics), led by Dr. Ana Dopazo is looking for a highly motivated, independent but team-oriented scientist to work on DNA studies using Next Generation Sequencing technology. The ideal candidate would implement protocols for high-throughput data generation related to genomics and epigenomics in the context of the CNIC-Santander PESA study (Progression of Early Subclinical Atherosclerosis study). Minimum requirements:

  • PhD in Biology, or another Life Sciences related field.
  • At least one year of experience in wet lab genomics/epigenomics.
  • At least one year of laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques

Assessable requirements:

  • Experience in molecular biology techniques
  • Experience (at least in one project) with high-throughput genomic data handling
  • Experience in wet lab Genomics/Epigenomics
  • Experience with automated platforms for liquid handling will be a plus

C1 - Experience in molecular biology techniques - 30%
C2 - Experience (at least in one project) with high-throughput genomic data handling - 30%
C3 - Experience in wet lab Genomics/Epigenomics longer than one year - 10%
C4 - Experience with automated platforms for liquid handling - 10%
C5 - Interview (for the top six candidates) - 20%
