The Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares (CNIC) is a public research institute dedicated to excellence in cardiovascular research and to translating new knowledge into real improvements in clinical practice. This modern building is equipped with the latest scientific equipment, including state-of-the-art imaging technologies, and a comprehensive research-support infrastructure.

This position is available in the new laboratory incorporating at CNIC under the CNIC-UPF collaborative agreement, led by Dr. Pura Muñoz-Cánoves. We are looking for enthusiastic and highly-motivated individuals with an interest in cardiovascular diseases. The laboratory is focused at identifying novel mechanisms involved in regeneration of adult striated muscles and in the pathogenesis of muscular dystrophies. In the recent years, the group has made relevant contributions to these converging muscle research fields.

The selected candidate must fulfill the following criteria:

  • PhD in Life Sciences 
  • Deep knowledge of skeletal muscle biology
  • Experience in stem cell biology and techniques
  • Experience in cellular and molecular biology
  • Experience in mouse transgenesis
  • At least 1 paper as main author in a high impact journal. Additional publications as main author will be an asset

Dr. Pura Muñoz-Cánoves is an investigator under the CNIC-UPF collaborative agreement.
