The Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares (CNIC) is a public research institute dedicated to excellence in cardiovascular research and to translating new knowledge into real improvements in clinical practice. This modern building is equipped with the latest scientific equipment, including state-of-the-art imaging technologies, and a comprehensive research-support infrastructure.

Nuclear Receptor Signaling Lab, led by Dra. Mercedes Ricote is looking for a competitive postdoctoral candidate to join his group.

Project: Nuclear Receptors in homeostasis and disease.

Dr. Mercedes Ricote (Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares, CNIC, Madrid, Spain) is looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated postdoctoral candidates. The candidate will work in a project focused on deciphering the role of nuclear receptors in metabolic and cardiovascular  disease. A combination of biochemical, cellular and in vivo model systems will be used, including tissue-specific knockout mice, genome-wide analysis, in vivo imaging and bioinformatic approaches.

Candidates should possess

  • PhD in Biomedical Science.
  • Expertise in mouse models.
  • Experience in projects related with the immune system (knowledge in nuclear receptors will be a plus).
  • Experience in sepsis models.
  • Applicants must have at least two papers published as first author in high-impact journals.
  • Stays in international laboratories will be a plus.
