The Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares (CNIC) is a public research institute dedicated to excellence in cardiovascular research and to translating new knowledge into real improvements in clinical practice. This modern building is equipped with the latest scientific equipment, including state-of-the-art imaging technologies, and a comprehensive research-support infrastructure.

This position is available in the new laboratory incorporating at CNIC under the CNIC-UPF collaborative agreement, led by Dr. Pura Muñoz-Cánoves. We are looking for enthusiastic and highly-motivated individuals with an interest in cardiovascular diseases. The laboratory is focused at identifying novel mechanisms involved in involved in regeneration of adult and aging striated muscles and in the pathogenesis of muscular dystrophies. In the recent years, the group has made relevant contributions to these converging muscle research fields.

Candidates should posses:

Candidates must hold a degree in Biology or Chemistry and have experience in molecular biology and cell biology and experience with mouse models. Previous experience in cardiac and muscle biology will be valued. Individuals with a Ph.D. in Life Sciences and with postdoctoral experience will be especially considered. Proficiency in English (oral and written) is a requirement. Knowledge of bioinformatics tools will be positively evaluated. The selected candidate will perform both experimental approaches and lab management activities.
