Senior Technician position in the lab of “Functional Genetics of the Oxidative Phosphorilation System (GENOXPHOS)” under supervision of Dr. Jose A. Enríquez
The Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares Carlos III (F.S.P.) (CNIC) has been conceived to develop research of excellence, competitive and of international relevance in relation to cardiovascular diseases. The CNIC has a research center of 24,000 m2, located in Madrid, with more than 6,000 m2 for laboratories equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment.
Functions:
- The applicant will be expected to develop a leadership role in a project related to pharmaceutical compound development.
- Development of leadership role in collaborative research, as well as participation at national and international meetings.
- Team management and student supervision.
- Writing of proposals for National and International calls.
- Interpersonal skills and adaptability for team working.
This contract will be fully funded by the project "Cell-Cell Communication by Mitochondrial Intercellular Traffic" (acronym: MINTRAF), code: GA-101198761, awarded to Dr. J.A. Enríquez under the "HORIZON-ERC-2024-ADG" call of the EC – European Commission.
Mandatory Requirements
- PhD in Science
- At least 15 research publications in scientific peer reviewed journals, as author in any position.
Valuable Requirements:
C1. Experience in developing new methodologies
C2. Experience in working in international laboratories and biotechnologies companies.
C3. Experience in wet lab in molecular and cell biology techniques mentioned above, regarding mitochondrial research, and in developing new methodologies.
C4. Experience leading projects in basic and translational research.
C5. Underrepresentation of gender by category, in accordance with Action S1 of the 2021-2024 Equality Plan, POSITIVE ACTION IN CALLS FOR POSTS
C6. Interview.
Positive action: a correction index of 1.5 is established for each year of experience in the evaluation of the number of years in those criteria where experience is evaluated, in the event that the disable person greater than 66% and 1.2 in the event that the disable person greater than 33%.

Recruiment Plan:
The RESOLUTION OF THE SECRETARIAT OF STATE FOR PUBLIC FUNCTION APPROVING THE COMMON ACTION CRITERIA FOR THE RECRUITMENT PROCESSES IN THE STATE PUBLIC SECTOR ENTITIES of April 11, 2022, sets forth in point 6.1 that “Unless a specific regulation establishes a merit-bases recruitment system (“concurso”), the competition (“concurso-oposición”) must be the recruitment system”.
In CNIC, the specific regulations approved by the Foundation's board of trustees establish a merit-based recruitment system (“concurso”) including a personal interview.
At least the 3 candidates with the highest score (as long as they reach the minimum of 65 points as a sum of criteria (C1‐C5) will be interviewed. The candidate with the highest score will be hired given the total score (C1-C6) is 90 points or higher.
