Graduated in Biology (2013) with an international Master in Molecular Biomedicine (2014) by Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She was awarded with an FPI-UAM fellowship to do her doctoral thesis at CBMSO with Dr. Susana Cadenas. Her thesis was focused on the protective role of different proteins against oxidative stress generated during cardiac ischemia-reperfusion and their involvement in ischemic-preconditioning. During her PhD, she collaborated with different institutions as CNIC, Hospital La Princesa, Ullevål University Hospital and Domus Medica from University of Oslo (Norway) and Cambridge University (UK). Finally, she obtained her PhD in 2019 with international mention and with the highest qualification of Cum Laude. She joined Dr. José Jalife´s lab in 2021 as a Junior Postdoc to work with hiPSC-CMs (Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell- derived Cardiomyocytes). Her project is focused on improve hiPSC-CMs maturation to use it as a good platform to model rare arrhythmogenic diseases.
