Postgraduate training for medical professionals in collaboration with the Spanish Society of Cardiology (SEC)
The CNIC represents a new model of cardiovascular research institution based on close collaborations between basic and clinical scientists, and a strong network with other clinical institutions and research centers.
Thanks to this structure, the CNIC should stimulate basic discoveries about the cause of disease, enable the translation of basic discoveries into clinical practice and foster training and mentoring of emerging scientists and physicians.
Excellence in translational biomedical research needs highly qualified personnel, trained in both medicine and research, the figure called “physician-scientist”. The CNIC, in collaboration with the SPANISH SOCIETY OF CARDIOLOGY (SEC) has designed a POSTGRADUATE TRAINING PLAN, within the CARDIOLOGY speciality, to help medical professionals to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge to develop cardiovascular research projects.
